Irene Thatcher peacefully went to be with her Lord on November 18, 2016 surrounded by loved ones.

She was born April 12, 1920 at home in Bruce, Wisconsin to Hazel (Joyner) and Harry Bartlett.

She married Rodger Thatcher on December 12, 1946 in Waupaca Wisconsin. In 1950 they moved to Texas and raised 4 children. Irene was a hairdresser and owned Thatcher Beauty Supply for many years in Bryan. She loved to bowl and did so well into her 80's. She served as President of the Bryan College Station Women's Bowling Association, volunteered...

She was born April 12, 1920 at home in Bruce, Wisconsin to Hazel (Joyner) and Harry Bartlett.

She married Rodger Thatcher on December 12, 1946 in Waupaca Wisconsin. In 1950 they moved to Texas and raised 4 children. Irene was a hairdresser and owned Thatcher Beauty Supply for many years in Bryan. She loved to bowl and did so well into her 80's. She served as President of the Bryan College Station Women's Bowling Association, volunteered in the gift shop at the College Station Medical Center for 25 years and was the manager there for 15 years. She never met a stranger and loved to visit with people. She was an avid Aggie Fan.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Rodger Thatcher, her parents Harry and Hazel Bartlett a son Richard Gerald (Agrey) Thatcher, 2 brothers Harold Bartlett and Claude Bartlett.

Survivors include her children, daughter Kay Smith and husband Merl of Bryan, son, Scott Thatcher and wife Joyce of College Station, son, Brian Thatcher and wife Cynthia of College Station. Grandchildren: Kenneth Speaks and wife Shelly, Laurie Henderson and husband Joe, Kevin Speaks and wife Lesley, Keli Faucett and husband Danny, Shelley Smith, Jeffrey Thatcher, Alise Levens and husband Brad, Kristal Beachy and husband Kevin, Jana Thatcher, Lori Meyer and husband Patrick, Justin Thatcher and wife Kara, Candace Jean and husband Steven, Megan Thatcher, Ethan Thatcher and wife Emily, Matthew Thatcher. 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. A sister in law, Betty Bartlett and a dear longtime friend Charlotte Price.

Graveside services will be on November 27 at 2:00pm, at Restever Memorial Park, 5103 N Texas Ave, Bryan, TX.
